Gray Street Workshop Celebrates 30years!

In 2015 Gray Street Workshop celebrates 30 years as an artist run space. Over the three decades we have been dedicated to providing support, opportunities, promotion, mentoring and studio space to emerging, mid career and established artists working in the field of contemporary jewellery and object making. Our philosophy is to encourage a rich and thought provoking range of professional experiences and exchanges.

To celebrate this achievement and to continue to provoke and stimulate discussion on the context and evolving practice of contemporary jewellery we are hosting a series of exhibitions and public events throughout 2015 and into early 2016 including:

Feature Exhibition:
Theatre of Detail: New work by Catherine Truman, Sue Lorraine and Jess Dare
An international touring exhibition of new work by the three partners: Jess Dare, Sue Lorraine and Catherine Truman, in which they unravel concepts of scale, time and material specificity. The work on exhibition will consist of objects and videos presented as a series of installations and/or vignettes.

Film Festival:
Contemporary jeweller Sim Luttin has curated a stimulating mini film festival , free to the public and, yes, we are transforming our driveway into a pop-up cinema! The film program is aimed at provoking questions about art and craft practice, the body, its boundaries and innovative ways of thinking.
Dates: March 12th & 13th , ( program repeated ) March 17th & 18th , 7.30pm - 10.30pm
Venue: Gray Street Workshop pop-up cinema, 10 Sydney Place, Adelaide, South Australia
