Intro
An intimate afternoon in my studio-home full of lively conversation, biscochitos, and libations—a chance to gather, connect, and honor the spirit that continues to define our lives here in the “Land of Enchantment.”
In the warmth of a Pennsylvania farmhouse, just outside Philadelphia, I grew up surrounded by the luminous spirit of mid-century salons. My artist parents hosted eclectic gatherings where painters, poets, musicians, photographers, writers, and madmen designers came alive—sparking debate, laughter, and brilliance late into  the night. These colorful assemblies were more than social events—they were acts   of curation, celebration, and artistic communion. I would often sit at the top of the hallway stairs listening and watching.

Today, I honor the legacy of Annette and Isa Barnett by rekindling the magic of salons, spaces where inspiration is experienced, stories are shared, and souls ignited. In this traditional spirit, I will revisit the atmosphere of Gertrude Stein’s Paris and Mabel Dodge Luhan’s and later Dennis Hopper’s “mud palace” in Taos.

I invite you to join me—Ivan Barnett—alongside a curated group of creative minds who have helped shape New Mexico into the vibrantly, diverse artists’ mecca that it has become.
