Munich Jewellery Week is an independent initiative that supports, communicates and promotes citywide jewellery exhibitions taking place during the week of the annual Handwerk & Design expo, and its historic jewellery exhibitions: Meister der Moderne, Schmuck and Talente.
Over the past decade, the gradual and organic expansion of the independent city exhibitions surrounding these events boomed to a remarkable 80+ initiatives, establishing a self-ruled dynamic community of local and international artists. This phenomenon is unique, and plays a pacemaking role in the contemporary jewellery field: hundreds of makers, students, educators and collectors come from all over the world to be inspired by this diverse programme that ranges from artist-run exhibitions, book launches and lectures to performances, mobile presentations and parties.
The title Munich Jewellery Week was coined in 2015 by Current Obsession to give a name to this extraordinary collective effort, and associate it to other professional fashion and design weeks around the world. The aim remains to represent the multitude of these impressive independent events as a whole, to give them a recognisable visual identity and to offer clear information to new participants, press and international visitors. Essential communication outlets, website www.munichjewelleryweek.com and social media profiles were created.
Additionally, MJW offers offline and local promotion: a citywide MJW Map of all events, a series of corresponding numbered street signs and continuous contact with press and visitors. Sold together in dozens of locations around Munich, MJW Map and CO Paper offer exclusive editorial content dedicated to events surrounding The Week.
All these services together create a buzz in the city, attract a wider public, and amount to a greater impact both locally and internationally while supporting the ambitions of artists worldwide.
If you are planning an exhibition or any other event during Munich Jewellery Week, please fill in the application form below. We know that each event is special and requires a different approach, so we would like to offer you a selection of three campaigns to choose from:
BASIC CAMPAIGN - similarly to the previous years, this option will ensure a space for your event on the Munich Jewellery Week Map. The location of your event will be marked with a number, accompanied by a communication image and a short statement/description (based on the information you submit in the form below).
The total cost of administration and production of Basic Campaign is €50
ADVANCED CAMPAIGN - by choosing this option you will receive all of the items mentioned above in the Basic Campaign + you will be provided with a Munich Jewellery Week street sign with the unique number of your event, corresponding to the MJW Map.
The total cost of administration and production of Advanced Campaign is €150
EXPERT CAMPAIGN - by choosing this option you will receive all of the items mentioned above in both Basic and Advanced campaigns + any additional information about your event will be published on Current Obsession + Munich Jewellery Week websites and social media (±15000 followers).
The total cost of administration and production of Expert Campaign is €200
By taking part in one of our campaigns, you support the hard work behind making MJW possible. However, we offer an option to submit your information without payment, by choosing the last option below. Your event will then be marked with a number and an address.
