Explore your full artistic potential in jewellery art and develop your own artistic working methods based on your artistic inquiries.
Application for the MA Craft two-year program for fall 2023 is approaching soon!
The education in Craft at HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design provides a comprehensive understanding of craft making / jewellery art contexts and the intersections between education, research and society.

All societies need reference points to form their future and to orient themselves in the present. Crafts constitute such a reference point through their associations with human needs and activities. The subject of crafts extends from tradition to science, forming an exciting, artistic arena. The master’s programme in Crafts at the Academy of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg is an all-encompassing environment that involves constant exchange and interaction between undergraduate education, research, and society.

MA Craft at HDK-Valand is a two-year programme. The programme includes specializations in Ceramic Art, Jewellery Art, Textile Art, Metal Art and Textile-Body-Space. Students choose their specialization as part of the application process.

The master’s programme in Crafts specializing in Jewellery Art is based on artistic exploration through materials and concepts. You will develop skill-based knowledge and enhance your execution of artistic work based on your own artistic inquiries within jewellery art. The department is well-equipped. You will find machines and tools for working with smithery, soldering, casting, etching, enameling, anodizing, 3-d printing, and more.
Your investigation through studio practice will be amplified with support of related theoretical discourse, writing, and critical reflection.
