We are looking for an artist with a professional specialization in goldsmithing or jewelry design with the ambition to further develop their own position as a jewelry artist during their stay in the state capital of Erfurt.
The artist will also get involved in the artistic events on-site and comment on their own stay, explorations, and encounters in a digital format.
Deutsche version - German version 
Following the jury's decision at the beginning of December 2024, the position can be filled from May 4 to August 3, 2025. A grant of EUR 4,000 will be awarded for this period. This includes any costs incurred for the work and materials.
A fully equipped goldsmith's workshop in the city's artists' workshops and a centrally located guest apartment are available free of charge. The artist working in Erfurt in 2025 will also take part in the Erfurt International Jewelry Symposium during the last two weeks of her stay.
In recent years, Helen Britton (AU/DE, 2007), Volker Atrops (DE, 2009), Nora Rochel (DE, 2013), Eunmi Chun (DE/KR, 2016), Alexandra Bahlmann (DE, 2020) and Sarah Ordoñez (MX, 2022), among others, have worked as City Goldsmiths in Erfurt.
The state capital Erfurt expects applications in digital form by November 24, 2024.
Applicants are requested to submit a meaningful documentation of their previous work (max. 10 pages; image and text), a CV and a short cover letter stating their motivation to take on such an office in Erfurt.
The date of receipt in the city's e-mail account applies.
