Intro
We feel that the theme is both exciting and open to many different interpretations, it can be responded to in many different ways... Physically the surfaces of the work will need to have some sort of texture or combination of different textures. Conceptually you could play with the idea of what is on the surface and what lies beneath. What is apparent and what is hidden.
30 members of Precious Collective will be selected to represent Precious in what will be the collective's first American exhibition in Autumn 2025. The Exhibition will then travel to Munich Jewellery Week in March 2026 (subject to world events or other factors beyond both organization’s control).

Concept:
What is a tangible manifestation for the things unsaid?
How can we extend the voice of materiality through acts of making?
Where does the metaphysical influence the language of jewelry?

The duality and texture of storytelling through and with jewelry is sometimes a transitional state that is not fully understood, nor needs to be in many cases. Materiality is changed with imbued meaning that creates a new way in seeing the jewel, and how it wishes to speak to us. Perhaps the things unsaid need their moment, their voice to extend into a visible language that alludes to what may have been if spoken and heard.
/ Mark Mcleish

Keywords: things unsaid, collection, texture, narrative, materiality

The exhibition will be on display at Pistachios from August 14, 2025, to October 26, 2025.
And then travel to Munich Jewelry Week in 2026.

Work to be exhibited:
- Each artist will create totally new work for this exhibition and must be created specifically for this exhibition.
- There is no restriction as to media, materials and size.
- Artists should create between 3 to 5 pieces:
  • 1 statement piece; valued up to $3000 USD (artist price)
  • 4 wearables: 1 piece between $150 - $600 USD (artist price)
  • 3 pieces under $150 USD (artist price).

Application:
Members are asked to apply with 3 to 5 photos of work they have created in the last 5 years which they feel best presents them.
A supporting statement will also be required that details how they will respond to the theme. If selected, artists will then be given the go-ahead to create work for the exhibition.
This is why such a long lead time has been given.
