This time (AV17)GALLERY invites all professional artists working with metal to join the International Biennial of Contemporary Metal Art “METALLOphone: Personally” which will take place in Lithuania.

Professional artists working with metal are welcome to join the international biennial of contemporary metal art - METALLOphone. The name is symbolic – Metallophone is an instrument that reveals the voice of metal. However, metal can also become a bright background for new ideas to spread.
Every artist who chooses metal, does it on purpose. Every creator has his own view of what metal stands for him and what kind of relation he or she has with it. Metal is not an easy material to work with; its control includes control of four elements – fire, air, water and earth. This process inspires, grants wide possibilities, but at the same time requires a lot from creator. This year’s subject, METALLOphone: personally, is an invitation to reflect upon artist’s personal relation with metal and to tell his or hers story behind it. You are invited to share your ideas answering the question – why metal? Deeper understanding of artists’ approach to material helps visitor to get more solid relation not only with artwork but also with an artist.
