Open Call for the Slovenian Jewelry Week 2025

The theme of this year's exhibition, "Energy," delves into the dynamics of creativity and transformation. Designers will explore how energy transcends physical resources, impacting the psychological, emotional, and spiritual dimensions that shape our world. Their works will reflect energy transitions—moments when the new replaces the old—catalyzing significant shifts across sectors such as transportation, architecture, agriculture, industry, politics, and culture. These transformative moments, which have inspired artists for centuries, continue to serve as a powerful source of creativity for contemporary designers. Through bold, innovative approaches, they will explore how energy and raw materials can be transformed into unique artistic expressions that encapsulate the spirit of the age and the profound changes happening in society.

Slovenian Jewelry Week (SIJW) serves as the central platform for presenting contemporary jewelry design in Slovenia, on an international scale. It operates as a platform for expressing creativity, innovation, and professional expertise, acting as a bridge between the past, present, and future. SIJW celebrates art, hard work, and passion for design, showcasing contemporary jewelry as a reflection of the creators' thoughts, ideas, and personalities. It also offers visitors the opportunity to experience the designers' creative vision.

The open call invites contemporary jewelry designers from Slovenia, Europe, and beyond to participate in the main exhibition of SIJW 2025, which will take place at Center Rog in Ljubljana. A professional jury will select the best designers, who will have the opportunity to showcase their work, and the most outstanding will receive awards for exceptional achievements in design.

The application form contains:

• Application Form: CV (maximum 800 characters).
• Description of Jewelry / Collection details: 3 individual pieces: Describe your jewelry/collection and the concept (inspiration) behind it (in max. 800 characters).
• Photographs of the jewelry in JPG format, in high resolution 300 dpi.
  Name: surname_name_title of the collection_piece of jewelry*.
  Example: novak_janez_samoreflexion_ring.
  *jewelry piece = ring, necklace, bracelet, earrings, brooch, etc.
• Declaration of authorship.

Entry fee: Registration is free.
Enrollment fee: to be paid once the designer is notified of the selection: 60 €

In preparation for the event, our team has begun collecting applications for satellite projects. Any galleries, museums, or schools with ideas for their own program or who are interested in collaborating are invited to submit them via email: hello@slovenianjewelryweek.com
