Intro
The open call to participate in the 3rd edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Art, Visions of Catalonia: Designing Crafts, is now open. A unique event with an itinerant exhibition, a catalogue and a virtual showing. 
 
Visions of Catalonia is an event promoted by the Consortium of Commerce Crafts and Fashion (CCAM) in collaboration with the Catalonia Association of Art Galleries (GAC). The aim is to spread new expressions of contemporary crafts and visual art by local creators, promoting and recognising the techniques, craftsmanship, and use of materials by the creators, as well as the concepts behind their work and creation.

Selection criteria
The committee of experts must select the candidates among the most valuable creative proposals and what is considered most in line to the philosophy of Visions of Catalonia: Crafting Art, that is, valuing the innovation, quality, professionalism, as well as the potential for generating business from the opportunity to participate in the Biennal. The selection of projects, based on the valuation criteria that are most clearly indicated, will depend on the criteria of proximity, with sensibility to the work processes, as well as to the people who are in charge of the production as well as elements for environmental management. Priority will be given to the objects on the relationship between crafts and art continued as equals, that is to say, crafts did not follow a simple production process, but rather intervene in a nuclear way in the conception of the project, and that the artistic part do not have understanding not only aesthetic, but also part of the process of creation of the piece.

The aim of this edition of the Biennale is the vindication of craftsmanship as a method of producing objects artistic, objects of decorative use dedicated to aesthetic enjoyment, where the pleasure felt by the craftsman or artist in the creative process The committee of experts must evaluate and select the proposals of the participating people in agreement with the following criteria, with a maximum of 100 points:

- Pieces: the quality and creativity of the submitted proposal, the uniqueness, and the artistic quality will be assessed, among other values ​​inherent in the product. Up to 40 points.
- Binomi Craft/Art: the dialogue and integration of the piece in the two disciplines will be valued. Up to 30 points.
- Excellence: pieces marked by a clear desire for innovation both conceptually and in the use of will be valued innovative techniques or new materials. Up to 30 points.

The maximum number of people or candidate companies selected is 30. Each candidacy can be consisting of one or more pieces, with a maximum of five. The Committee will assess and select individually each of the pieces proposed in the nominations received.
