Discover how CAD and 3D printing can become part of your jewellery design and manufacturing practice in this introductory online seminar from the Goldsmiths’ Centre, Simply Rhino and CADJewellerySkills.com.
Led by jewellery CAD specialist Jack Meyer, the two-hour session introduces the Rhino 3D interface, commands and best-practice techniques, alongside the fundamental principles of using CAD for jewellery design and 3D printing.
Designed for beginners, the seminar requires no previous practical CAD experience. Participants can follow the demonstrations or install the Rhino demo version in advance to take part in the exercises themselves.

Explore a century of British silver design through objects, original drawings and archival material in this Creative Inspiration Workshop at Goldsmiths’ Hall.
Beginning with a tour of Taking Shape: 100 Years of Company and Craft, the workshop traces changing approaches to silver from Arts and Crafts and Art Deco to Mid-Century Modern and contemporary practice.
Participants will then visit the Goldsmiths’ Company Library to see, handle, photograph and draw unique archival material, including original designs by silversmiths such as Durbin, Benney, Styles, Devlin, Cork and Hanid.

Learn how to incorporate 24ct gold foil into silver jewellery using the traditional Korean technique of Keum-Boo in this two-day masterclass with jeweller and educator Hendrike Barz-Meltzer.
Participants will work through the complete process, from preparing and depletion-gilding silver to cutting and applying gold foil using heat and burnishing tools. The course also introduces surface finishing, oxidation and micro-riveting as a cold-connection technique.
Alongside technical instruction, Barz-Meltzer will guide participants through a focused design process examining pattern, composition and material contrast. Makers will produce a series of test pieces and build a repeatable technical workflow that can be developed further in their own studios.
The course is designed for intermediate makers comfortable with basic bench skills including annealing, sawing and filing. Previous experience of Keum-Boo is not required.

Designed for emerging and established UK jewellers and silversmiths, this one-to-one Business Diagnostic offers focused advice on the challenges, opportunities and next steps facing your practice.
Participants spend an hour in conversation with jewellery industry specialists Liz Olver, Amy Wilson and Keira Wraae-Stewart, with the opportunity to explore areas including business strengths and weaknesses, product development, brand positioning, priorities, training and future growth.
Ahead of the session, participants complete a questionnaire outlining their business and the issues they would most like to discuss. A recording of the conversation is provided afterwards, helping makers reflect on the advice and develop a practical plan for moving forward.

Go behind the scenes at the Crafts Council’s collection store to explore modern and contemporary jewellery through an extraordinary range of materials, forms, scales and approaches.
Participants will have the rare opportunity to discuss, examine and draw pieces by makers including Esna Su, Jo Hayes-Ward, Eleanor Bolton, David Poston, Leah Miles, Maria Militsi, Adam Paxon, Sarah King, David Watkins, Jack Cunningham, Grainne Morton, Angela O'Kelly, Wendy Ramshaw and Hans Stofer.
Many of the makers represented were central to the New Jewellery Movement that developed from the 1970s. Their experiments with textiles, plastics and other non-precious materials helped open jewellery to new forms, colours and scales, contributing to the diverse approaches to adornment seen today.
