Come and join us at the most cool, cold place of the world. We can’t promise you snow but we pray for it.

Following up our ”Identity” workshop 2005, and our ”Hungrig” workshop 2006, we like to invite you to join us at our upcoming workshop called “FLAGS”.

Throughout the last years the question of national identity has been lively discussed into the field of jewellery and corpus.
We believe that not only your chosen school but also your place of birth plays an essential role in your art.
The rapid exchange of information provided through internet and globalization seems to even out the differences between the countries, but still there is a national identity recognizable in jewellery. For this reason we are planning “FLAGS”.

Within the workshop-week 9 different countries will conquer Konstfack!

Each jewellery school will get their own space at our “seminargatan” this is a wide corridor with glass fronted rooms. We will ask the professors and students to create an extraordinary installation as a description of their country in their room. It is not mend to be a presentation of the schools (as interesting as this might be at another time) but a presentation of national habits. For example Sweden could be a room with: white snow, woods and lakes, in the middle a happy elk, and low alcohol beer.
To describe your own country in this symbolic way is a challenge. These rooms are the base for the workshops.
We invite the professors to create a one day workshop with the aim of exploring national identity. We kindly ask the professors to give this workshop 3 times in the following 3 days to different groups of students.
