Intro
Participants will be introduced to the production of the traditional Japanese metal alloys Shakudō, Shiro Shibuichi and Nami Shibuichi.
Afterwards, the area inlay Nunomezogan is shown and practiced. The piece of metal to be worked on is fastened in chasing putty, then the surface of the base material is roughened with a sharp chisel, then a thin metal foil is hammered into this roughened structure and hammered flat. Various patination processes using Japanese recipes are presented and applied.
