DEADLINE: 20/08/2026

The Japanese term Mokume Gane means "wood grain in metal", which aptly describes the visual effect of this ancient Japanese technique. In this process, thin sheets of copper, silver, palladium or gold and their alloys are welded on top of each other in several layers.
In the resulting ingot, structures (patterns) are incorporated by partially removing the surface. Since the production of the bar or ring blank is done according to a simplified process with the help of a burner, the participants can make Mokume Gane jewellery themselves after the course with little effort.
Course instructor: Georg Schulte Goldsmith. Since 2004, lecturer for Mokume Gane and other goldsmithing techniques at various institutions www.hofschmied.de
Course instructor: Georg Schulte.
Date: 20.09.2026-25.09.2026.
