Intro
Based on paper techniques, the exercises in this workshop will generate a wide range of material experiments, and the students will get to experience the characteristics of the material paper.
The starting point of this workshop is the amazingly versatile material Paper. Metal and paper can be surprisingly similar, yet on other hand, there are lots of possibilities for new combinations in previously unthought and unexpected ways. Based on paper techniques, the exercises in this workshop will generate a wide range of material experiments, and the students will get to experience the characteristics of the material paper. With wet fibre techniques we can mould certain forms or create new ones. We can make handmade paper and combine it with metal, or other materials. Models constructed out of sheet paper can be transformed into metal as they both react similarly. Paper such as printed paper, used paper, school paper, patterned paper, wallpaper could all be inspiration for, and a jumping off point for, a new jewellery piece.

Usually the jewellery group shares the huge Marstall, a historical barn, with the printing class in the very back, we have several benches and every student gets his own desk.

Languages: German, English, Spanish.
