The 11th edition of the New Talent Award 2025 by Klimt02 aims to recognize the work of graduate students in our field by supporting their careers in the professional world. Nominated by our school members, one of the selected graduates will win the New Talents Award.
The collection addresses the process as a symbol and folding as a lasting gesture that captures the temporality of change.

Name of graduation student: Alexandrina Remescu-Simo
Name of guiding teacher: Andreia Gabriela Popescu
Nominated by Assamblage Contemporary Jewelry School
I, the undersigned, jewelry Senior Lecturer at Assamblage School, am pleased to offer my strongest recommendation for Alexandrina Remescu-Simo, one of the most accomplished and dedicated students of our institution.
With a solid background in architecture, Alexandrina stands out through her exceptional ability to integrate structural thinking and conceptual rigor into the field of contemporary jewelry. Her works, created primarily from cement, silver and bronze, reflect a mature and coherent artistic approach, in which architectural complexity is translated with sensitivity and precision into jewelry pieces that unite elegance, structural integrity, and artistic value.
Throughout her studies, Alexandrina has represented Assamblage School as an ambassador, participating in numerous international competitions between jewelry schools within curatorial groups coordinated by Professor Andreia Gabriela Popescu. Her professionalism, commitment, and ability to work within complex curatorial contexts have significantly contributed to the international visibility and prestige of our school. In 2025, her artistic practice received major international recognition through winning the Best Talent by Inhorgenta Award, presented in Milan, an achievement that confirms her value and strong potential as an emerging artist in the field of contemporary jewelry. I confidently recommend Alexandrina Remescu-Simo for New Talents.

The statement of the artist:
The Fluid Elegance Ring is a sculptural piece made from light blue cement, silver with a bronze base, finished with a lace-like element in cement and bronze.
Cement is the starting point of this ring, and it’s treated the same way one would approach it in an architectural context. The material is reinforced from the inside so it can stay thin and expanded without becoming fragile. Instead of coating the surface, the color is mixed directly into the cement, giving it a soft blue tone that feels closer to water than to concrete, while still letting the material be what it is. A custom mold is used to shape the form, and the surface keeps small imperfections that come from casting and curing. These traces are intentional; they show the process and connect the piece to architectural construction methods, just scaled down to the size of the body.
The jewelry construction brings together casting and fabrication techniques. The silver ring band is built to lift the main element up, giving the ring a strong structure and letting the top feel almost suspended. Under the cement, a bronze base adds strength and balance, both visually and structurally. The lace-like element is created using the lost wax method, which allows for fine, organic details that would be difficult to achieve any other way. Hand fabrication and finishing refine the cast elements, ensuring a precise connection between metal and cement while maintaining the organic irregularities essential to the design. Each construction step is visible yet integrated, reinforcing the dialogue between craft, material, and structure. Every material has a clear role, and the construction is designed to support the form without overpowering it.
The concept of the ring comes from the movement of water, specifically whirlpools and water drops. The cement form spreads outward like a frozen moment of swirling motion or the edge of a drop just as it hits the surface. The lace-like structure references ripples, foam, and the small patterns water creates as it moves. Bronze adds a sense of depth and weight, like water pulling downward, while silver reflects light in a way that recalls the surface of flowing water. Together, these elements capture the contrast that defines water itself: soft but powerful, constantly moving yet able to leave lasting traces. The ring holds one of those moments still, turning something temporary into something you can wear.
