Melting Pot is a cultural landmark showcasing treasures dating as far back as the 3rd millennium BC through to contemporary art jewellery. The realm of jewellery is brought to life through a treasure trove of essays, think pieces, questionnaires, books, podcasts and special international events.
In a world where the allure of jewellery transcends borders, an English online magazine has emerged, catering to enthusiasts of all stripes.
The brainchild of Pforzheim Jewellery Museum Director Cornelie Holzach, this platform aims to showcase the vast and varied facets of jewellery, past and present, to a global audience.
From museum-goers to jewellery makers and artists, readers are treated to a mix of entertaining and profound content, delving into not only the Museum's activities but also the broader world of jewellery. Collectors, artists, and curators alike share their insights and experiences, while books are reviewed and glimpses behind the scenes of the museum are revealed.
Whether it's exploring curiosities or offering practical tips on handling individual materials, this platform has something for everyone. And with podcasts, videos, and an online shop, the melting pot of jewellery knowledge is accessible 24/7.
We've had the idea for such an online magazine for a long time, explains Holzach. I am thrilled that it is finally ready and that we can 'lift the veil' for our readers. New content will be released every one to two weeks, promising a fresh and dynamic experience with each visit.
This impressive project, titled Melting Pot, is a collaborative effort between Qompendium and Jewellery Museum, led by Sascha Lobe of Pentagram in London for the design. It brings together a team of experts in the fields of jewellery, design, and digital media to create a unique resource for jewellery enthusiasts worldwide.
