Intro
I use computer-aided design and I don’t think it takes away from my handmade work. Every piece is touched and finished by hand so it always preserves this unique look. There are other pieces which I make 100% by hand and those have their own beauty as well. Exploring different techniques and unconventional approaches just expand the possibility of arriving at the desired artistic destination.
What's local and universal in your artistic work?
The ability we all have to express ourselves through various artistic mediums is universal. What’s local is universal taken to a personal level. Every emotion I add to each piece is local, every subjective interpretation I make is local.

What do you expect when you show your work to the public (for example, with an exhibition)?
I would hope to arrive with the greatest confidence, but showing my work is as if I am getting naked. Any public showcase fills me with curiosity about people’s experience. Honest and unbiased opinions are what I am looking for.

How important is the handmade for you in your development? What role does technics and
technology play in your development?

Technology fascinates me! I think we shouldn’t be scared of it.

When you start making a new piece what is your process? How much of it is a pre-formulated plan and how much do you let the material spontaneity lead you?
Most of my pieces started as an inspiration and went straight to design and creation. Very few had precise drawings, but I am realizing the more perfected and staged the initial phases, the less they come to life.

Are there any other areas besides the jewels present in your work?
Theater!

How important is wearability in contemporary jewellery? And in your pieces?
To me, wearability is very important. However, there is a broad definition of what’s wearable today. Since jewellery is an expression of ourselves it would be limiting to say what you can and can not wear. I have a large necklace made from an actual animal spine and I have a delicate necklace made in gold and diamonds, both highly respected and wearable by some.

The last work, book, film, city that moved me was...
I just visited Dali’s museum in Figueres and I was blown away by his consistent surrealistic vision delivered even in his jewelry art works.

What/who is the biggest influence in your career?
People with high energy, passion and motivation were always very influential to me. These people are usually not artists.

Which piece or job gave you the most satisfaction?
Some of my early works bring me an interesting sense of pure, childlike naiveté which for some reason is very satisfying. However, I always look forward and get most excited out of what is coming next. So to say, my future “unmade” pieces bring me the satisfaction of what they can become.

Considering the experiences you have had over the years - if you could go back and give yourself a piece of advice for the start-up phase, what would that be?
Patience!

Can you describe your personality in 3 words, describe your work in 3 words.
Sporadic, artistic, intuitive and my work, sporadic, artistic, intuitive.
Your work is you.
