Intro
3d printing has been of great help to my work. In the work series of LINE, 3d printing helped me achieve higher complexity while making my work neat and fine. Technology has raised the upper limit of my creative expression to a higher extent, and has helped me to better visualize my work in the course of creation.
What's local and universal in your artistic work?
My works act as the medium for communication between myself and the outside world. As an undergraduate student who is about to finish my degree, I often feel uncertain and confused about my future. I would like to take this as an inspiration, combining personal emotions with reality that I have encountered in life to express myself in the form of art.

What do you expect when you show your work to the public (for example, with an exhibition)?
I hope that when the audience sees my work, they can figure out the underlying meaning behind each piece. My works may be visually similar to each other, but each individual one represents for different concepts. Taking the latest work series called LINE for example, although all the rings use concepts, such as lines and movable parts, each design has its own meaning to distinguish different works. In spite of the similar concept of the circle rail, some work it symbolizes circulation and loss, while in others it may appears as growth and independence. I hope that the audience can immerse into the mood that I want to express.

How important is handmade for you in your development? What role does technics and technology play in your development?
3d printing has been of great help to my work. In the work series of LINE, 3d printing helped me achieve higher complexity while making my work neat and fine. Technology has raised the upper limit of my creative expression to a higher extent, and has helped me to better visualize my work in the course of creation.

When you start making a new piece what is your process? How much of it is a pre-formulated plan and how much do you let the material spontaneity lead you?
My source of inspiration always pops up inadvertently. Whenever I feel inspired, I will immediately record it and delve further into it. Sometimes multiple ideas are combined to explore greater possibilities.

Are there any other areas besides the jewels present in your work?
My work revolves around wearable accessories, such as rings or brooches. I like to design small and delicate accessories, using the simplest elements to express the most intuitive feelings.

How important is wearability in contemporary jewellery? And in your pieces?
I think the definition of wearable is rather broad for contemporary jewelry. Any item can be worn, yet what matters the most is the concept and idea behind it. Personally, I believe that the tradeoff between wearability and visual effects could be achieved.

The last work, book, film, city that moved me was...
My work of inspiration could stem from anything. For example, in the series of LINE, the appearance of the Tokyo Sky Tree has inspired my design. I like the modern minimalist design. When I see a new thing, I will observe and examine its appearance in the first place, and then slowly figure out the meaning behind it.

What/who is the biggest influence in your career?
I would like to thank my professors and friends. They always provide constructive suggestions for improvement with patience and grace. They help me not only in terms of studying handicrafts but also in establishing the concept of works, the choice of materials and so forth.

Which piece or job gave you more satisfaction?
Personally, my favorite collections are LINE and CAPTURE.

What is your source to get information?
I usually research online for information I need, I also sometimes using platforms like Klimt02 and Behance to browse other designers and artists’ works.

Considering the experiences you have had over the years - if you could go back and give yourself a piece of advice for the start-up phase, what would that be?
I would recommend myself to start learning digital modeling as early as possible since 3D printing helped me a lot on producing delicate models.

Can you describe your personality in 3 words, describe your work in 3 words.
Gentle, Enthusiasm, Inspirational / Dynamic, Random, Minimalism.
