Pricey brooch by Benedict Haener

The process of making also generates new ideas: To press the diamonds into dust for the sandpaper, Benedict Haener places the diamonds between two welded steel plates. When pressed, the diamonds leave such a fascinating imprint in the steel plate that they inspire Benedict Haener to create another work in which the diamond - although only an imprint - still remains a delicate, sparkling image of itself.
