Intro
Schmuck, the parallel jewellery events and the general movement were a very interesting gathering. For more than half a century the importance of our special show is based on its continuity and the permanent focus on new jewellery developments, trends and ideas.

Schmuck is a special show of the International Trade Fair for the Skilled Trades taking place in Munich in March each year since 1959. Jewellery art reflects its day and age. Artists may refer to a political or social background, they may be rooted in fashion or arts. The high standards and stunning inventiveness of its participants turn the international special show Schmuck into a renowned show case for trends in jewellery art world wide.
We receive about 700 applications for the participation at SCHMUCK per year. The selection is made by a distinguished jewellery teacher changing every year.

“ Schmuck 2016” was again visited with significant interest in the contemporary jewellery. The Herbert Hofmann Prize 2016 was awarded to Stefano Marchetti, Moniek Schrijer and Jelizaveta Suska. The Bavarian States Prize was given to Sigurd Bronger, Junwon Jung and Kadri Mälk.

Deadline for all applications will be the 1st October 2016.

As organizers we think that artists should apply first in Talente and later on in Schmuck - but you can apply for both - Talente and Schmuck but your work will only be selected for one exhibition.

In addition you should known that the jury of the Bavarian States Prize will look at the works in the special shows. The Bavarian States Prize is awarded to 10 contribution of applied art within all contribution of the International Trade Fair. This prize is awarded with 5.000 €.

Your submission should not be older than 2 years and we only exhibit wearable jewellery (no package, text, photographs or installations). You can upload up to 8 photographs.
Save your application information outside of the website so you don’t have to start again if you make a mistake. Photograph your pieces to a high standard and ensure they are the right size for inclusion in your application before you start the application process. Only put forward your best work.

The decision about the entry to Schmuck’2017 will be a personal selection of one known specialist. The information about your participation will be reaching you after the selection process.

Please note that we will not send back any application material

The competition is publicly funded. This covers the space on the fair itself, the catalogue entry and part of the transport of the objects to and from Munich.
