Intro
The 13th edition has been held simultaneously in two iconic venues of Barcelona as an exhibition. The individual and award-winning artists are exhibiting at the Disseny HUB Barcelona, this prestigious space is also hosting the artists from Enjoia’t organized by A-FAD. On the other hand, schools, galleries and collectives are exhibiting at Artesanía Catalunya del Consorcio de Comercio y Moda (CCAM) of Generalitat.

This year's jury was preceded by Lucia Massei, director of the Florentine school of contemporary jewelry ALCHIMIA, Saskia Kolff-van Es, Dutch historian, and professor, specialized in contemporary jewelry, Namkyung Lee, winner of JOYA 2020 and Paulo Ribeiro, founder, and director of JOYA since 2008.

The jury selected the winner based on the technique, concept, and use of materials, and the winner of this edition is:

JOYA WINNER: Eunseok Han
In the artist's words “The disposables we meet every day are considered as non-precious materials and are used only once then discarded. I thought we could make beautiful jewelry with them. They are also considered one of the causes of pollution. my work began with reviving disposables, but I wish not only the disposables but also our nature stay alive for a little longer”.

Eunseok will be the face of JOYA 2022, taking part in exhibitions representing the event, besides communication during one year promoting the artist worldwide.

The awards of our collaborators:

Mydaybyday gallery: Jaiik Lee
Artist Jaiik Lee pure lines, inspire movement into space in an incredibly elegant and sinuous way. Each object has a life of its own and moves gently like an ancient musical instrument. You can grasp all the beauty of these elements visually and get inspired to dream of a fantasy world in which Nature is the protagonist. The brilliant work of Lee proves the high level of craftsmanship this artist has acquired during his exploration of an artistic idiom and suggests a deep knowledge and understanding of other artistic disciplines as well, such as sculpture and architecture. Natural forms take life in Lee's artwork, in a new exceptional breathing conversation with the viewer and the vibrant colors create exciting new visual compositions to enjoy at all times. The prize will consist of a one-month feature as the 'Artist of the Month' of February 2022 on the pages of Lost in Jewellery Magazine.

Brazil Jewellery week: Jaiik Lee
After analysis we selected the jeweler, Jaike Lee,  to participate as an awarded winner in the third edition of Brazil Jewelry Week, which will take place online from November 18th to 25th, 2021

Milano Jewellery tour: Eunseok Han
The award of a Professional Press Kit was born from the will to support and promote the contemporary jewelry field. Young designers, and even the most experienced ones, often know how to make a great body ornament but communicate its uniqueness and value on media unfortunately much less because in many schools is not taught. Now these skills to emerge can no longer be postponed.
Eunseok will receive a professional press kit included professional consulting to understand how to relate to journalists and be published in magazines.

FIO Gallery: Namkyung Lee
Namkyung Lee is the selected artist to be represented by the gallery and have an individual exhibition. The gallerist  has been studying Namkyung Lee's work since last year, the windows of the pieces transport her to a place where she would like to be. In Alice words: “I love the overlays and construction of the pieces, this work really touches me, even more so in this rare moment that we live. A delicate and strong work”.

Salvador Vico: Namkyung Lee
Be part of the "Contemporary Jewelry Simancas" First international meeting of contemporary jewelry in Simancas (Valladolid).
The artist was chosen for the lightness of the pieces, the exact use of the metal that she uses to wrap the light, that is what it is about, light and transparency. The artist is inviting us to see through her windows, to show us a part of her daily life, she transports us to her inner universe, it's incredible how she transmit so many sensations with so little.

Autor: Rita Martinez
Dan Piersinaru, director and founder of AUTOR personally select “Maldita Primavera” from Rita Martínez who will represent JOYA at the new edition of the fair in 2022.

ARTE y JOYA: Namkyung Lee
From Grupo Duplex, it is a real pleasure to present the winner of the XI Arte y Joya International Award, the Korean artist Namkyung Lee. She wins this award from 168 artists from 45 countries. The jury of this 2021 and the popular vote have corroborated it, Namkyung Lee is our new Art and Jewel 2021 and we are proud of it. And for this we thank our selection committee, in this edition, the jewelry teacher Anna Rafecas; the jeweler Lluís Comín; the director of JOYA Barcelona Paulo Ribeiro, our collaborator Nicolás Estrada and the historian Beatriz Chadour.

Dterra Gallery: Misato Takahashi - Escola Massana
From Dterra we want to give importance to contemporary art and crafts, valuing innovation in techniques. That is why Misato's pieces have captivated us. The use of different materials and an exquisite technique are the perfect combination for expressing her poetic discourse. Although in part of the pieces the material used is gold and Urushi lacquer, our perception is that the importance of the pieces does not lie in the material itself, but in its message.

Ambar organization: Misato Takahashi - Arnald Jordà
ALCHEMY is a notion of a very wide spectrum of meanings and therefore as a topic of this year's competition allowed the participants to create so diverse interpretations. At the same time, the jury members had a hard task to cope with judging so wide variety of answers. As a result, the jury decided to divide the amber pool and award a joint prize.

The prize was awarded jointly to (in the alphabetic order of names), the students representing their schools:

EA Llotja, Barcelona: Arnald Jordà
In the work of Arnald Jordà the jurors emphasised the subtlety of both visual as meaning content. The piece doesn't extort reflection on beauty but encourages it on different levels of interpretation. It also reminds us of the respect for nature referring to the Indian tradition.

Escola Massana, Barcelona: Misato Takahashi
The works of Misato Takahashi with special emphasising on the brooch "Magic Ram #4 Wand" are inspired by her dream, deep reflection on the future of humans and nature and as she said herself, the mission of an artist "to pave our future path towards the perfection with their creativity, technique, and magic, which I believe this is a part of the artists' role in the society ", in our times of the rapid "alchemic" transformations.
