#4 Supernatural Issue / 2015 / attempts to connect the mystical notions of shamanism and magic to the creative process itself. While the concept of the artist as shaman was elaborated by artists in the mid-20th century, we were curious to find out how it’s reflected in today’s world. Essentially, it’s about creating one’s own narrative, mythology and belief system, while daring to challenge the conventions of art and design.
CURRENT OBSESSION proudly presents our fourth issue, The Supernatural. In this issue the editors discovered that shamans and artists speak the same language, each tapping into intuitive forces. They teach us not to be afraid to get lost and to create our own belief systems, stick to our mythologies, and to create our rituals and artefacts. The phenomena that happens outside our senses’ capacity to register was the issue’s primary exploration.
Friday, November 6, 2015 from 7 to 12 PM.
Drinks will be served. We would be delighted for you to chant along with us while we present you with a lot of gems, performances and, of course, the new issue.
