The Kolleg SchmuckDesign is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the MAK in Vienna with a representative jewellery exhibition of the students', graduates' and teachers' work. The 40 exhibitors display an inspiring variety and the extraordinary works of the graduates testify to the quality of the training in Herbststrasse.

The Kolleg SchmuckDesign was founded in 2009 on the initiative of Susanne Hammer, teacher and internationally renowned jewellery artist. Since then, more than 50 graduates have been able to pursue a wide range of careers in the fields of unique jewellery, accessories, trade, sales, marketing, cultural management and artistic jewellery. Among them are artists who have won prizes in international competitions, who exhibit internationally and who have already made a name for themselves with their studios.
The six-term evening college for jewelry design in linking art, crafts and design and thus provides the basis for a flexible vocation orientation in the field of jewelry design. Apart from providing the classical techniques of creating jewellery and working in the metal, the emphasis of this college is on professional training of artistic and creative skills. Art history, theory of contemporary jewellery, analogue and digital design techniques, basic knowledge of business administration, economics and law are also part of the core area. The training can be done part-time and takes place in small groups in the workshops of Herbststrasse in the evening and leads to a diploma.

On the occasion of this anniversary exhibition, seven additional Viennese studios and shops of former students offer insights into their jewellery creations.
