Intro
100 years after the founding of the Bauhaus in neighbouring Weimar, ten artists came together at the 17th Erfurt Jewellery Symposium (17. Erfurter Schmucksymposium) to develop contemporary reflections on the art school whose impact is still dominant today.

Artist list

Jamie Bennett, Sophie Hanagarth, Melanie Isverding, Katharina Kielmann, Felix Lidner, Mandy Rasch, Sarah Schuschkleb, Anat Shiftan, Ketli Tiitsar, Karola Torkos
The artists moved between direct references, the combination of techniques as well as philosophical and aesthetic explorations. Their pieces of jewellery, work sketches, sculptures and pictures reflect a wide range of present-day ideas and thoughts inspired by the Bauhaus in theory, practice and aesthetics. At the same time, the pieces allow for an extended view of formative aspects of the Bauhaus and, in particular, on jewellery today.
