Adornment for the 21st Century: Michael Zobel Curates

Patina presents Adornment for the 21st Century. With three separate exhibits scheduled over the course of the summer, Patina Gallery presents the remarkable spectrum of contemporary studio jewelry, precious to profound. Patina’s exhibition calendar for Summer 2008 will absolutely tantalize connoissuers of Soul Stirring adornment. 

The first two events are curated by internationally esteemed figures in the world of studio jewelry. Charon Kransen in June, and Michael Zobel in July, select works by the world’s premier artists working in precious metals and also alternative jewelry materials like leather, steel, rubber, felt and fur. The third is a solo exhibition featuring Spanish artist jeweler Enric Majoral. It opens in August. 

Curator Michael Zobel, from Germany, is already an enormously important jewelry artist in his own right. At Patina’s invitation, Zobel for the fi rst time ever assumes the role of curator and invites 10 established and museum caliber European artists to participate in this exhibit. Each artist is asked to provide 10 works.
