Intro
(...) ten artists and designers are showing their most recent works. These are executed in silver or copper as well as steel, aluminium and plastic, and always with the personal signature of the maker(...)
Galerie Ra is well-known for specialising in contemporary jewellery but also regularly showcases objects with a practical, decorative or symbolic function, like for instance vases, dishes or spoons...

In 2000 and 2005 I spent a few months in Sydney and Melbourne, among other reasons, to learn the art of silversmithing. These visits afforded me the opportunity to gain a good impression of the high quality and immense variety of the work made there. In this context rmit courses and Monash University in Melbourne and the Australian National University in Canberra play a major role.

My fascination with the subject and the information gained has now led to the exhibition ‘Australian Vessels & Objects’, in which ten artists and designers are showing their most recent works. These are executed in silver or copper as well as steel, aluminium and plastic, and always with the personal signature of the maker…
