Twenty-four jewellery artists from Denmark, Norway and Sweden and one from Japan have created large-scale neckpieces in a wide array of materials, inspired by the theme Body of Water.
Artist list
Karin Roy Andersson, Sofia Björkman, Liv Blåvarp, Katrine Borup, Maria Börjesson, Sigurd Bronger, Hilde Dramstad, Lillan Eliassen, Ammeli Engström, Gabriella Goldsmith, Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir, Ingjerd Hanevold, Janne K Hansen, Helen Clara Hemsley, Tomoyo Hiraiwa, Helena Johansson Lindell, Malene Kastalje, Hanna Liljenberg, Märta Mattsson, Maja Røhl, Mette Saabye, Philipp Spillmann, Tore Svensson, Anna Talbot, Felieke van der Leest
The theme has a uniting force, testifying not only to the vital nature of water, but also the necessity of collaboration and exchange, hereby strengthening the Nordic-Japanese bond and our mutual cultural, historical and aesthetic interest.
Some of the works are more figurative, while others have a personal or questioning aspect twist, with a reference to the environment or a childhood memory, and beautifully, they all give a feeling of invitation to further discovery and discussion.
The exhibition will run from 9-27 September.
