At this moment I am working on a project called borrowed jewels.
It is a new proposal about jewels and people participation. A new participated jewelry proposal.
The project researches about a jewel-feeling, about fetishism. About the "added value"given to an object because off its especial personal meanings.
How we establish relations with the piece, what is considered a jewel and about the communications process the jewel sets up with the environment, the body and finally the space.
Borrowed jewels tries to set up a link between strange people, but with something in common: the loose of a jewel.
Miquel García is an artist who works on several levels simultaneously; his methods range from direct social intervention and micropolitical activist strategies to the use of video as a means to record stories of everyday life. He moves from installations to civil disobedience, graffiti of merchandising to mark his position as an instigator and provoker of collective reactions to expose current global and local –glocal– problems through individual creativity and communication.
