Deganit Stern Schocken combines rough, unpolished parts - objects that could have been found in the street and seen as rubbish, with elegant silvery or strong coloured parts, that mirrors the rusty steel twins and brings out the colors and the details of it.The work has balance, sensitivity, political edges and humor - contemporary jewellery at its best!

The artist has a BFA degree from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, and has also studied at the Sir John Cass College of Art, Middlesex Polytechnic in London. In 1998 Stern Schocken founded the jewellery department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat and until 2016 she was the head of the MA department. Deganit Stern Schocken’s work can be found in permanent collections all over the world. For example the the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The exhibition runs until November 3.
