In this hyper-connected world, the proposal of such a project as this may not seem a very original idea but, beyond appearances, connecting jewellery with ceramics is not something that has very often been tried. Although there already exist remarkable records, it is not technically easy to combine materials as different as brass or silver with clay, stoneware, or porcelain. The first ones are hard and flexible while the second ones are fragile and rigid after firing. Nevertheless, the originality of the proposal does not only lie in this but in the challenge of connecting students and teachers from two schools and two cities in an attempt by jewellers, potters, photographers, and graphic designers to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to attain a common goal.

The project took place during the academic year 2018-2019 with the creation of a series of ceramic jewels. What we intend during this academic year 2020-2021 is displaying the results. In this way, different professional fields are combined and expanded, extending the training work towards communicative competences in which the exhibition of the objects culminates in the phase prior to their commercialization and providing students with the context in which they can acquire a real vision of the social, public and economic dimension of their work.

Finally, we would like to emphasize and show our gratitude for the commitment of numerous people, both teachers, and students of both schools and the various participating institutions. Without them, it would not have been possible to get this project off the ground.
