This solo exhibition includes brand new work, informed by her five-year project: Feint-Hearted a body of work created from over twenty-five rabbit hides that she acquired during her studies nearly a decade ago.

The work is both hard and soft. They are made of rabbit fur inserted by pins that are adorned with glass, lacquer, shell, and stone. Their decorativeness is inviting but their potential to puncture maintains their isolation. Each is an individual belonging to the whole.

Pins, pearls, and rabbit fur are what describe the physical attributes of these pieces. The black rabbit has been divided and put back together, going through multiple transformations: physical and theoretical. Once the forms are created, they are inserted with pins and needles. The materials and process are a conceptual framework for visually representing anxiety, fear, and love.

Inspired by the novel “Valley of the Dolls,” by Jacquline Susann, each necklace in Dolls is a manifestation of powerful women defined by prospect, beauty, and tragedy. Dolls, are a series of necklaces made from two black rabbit pelts using traditional sewing techniques that are also held together by the pins through tension. These two pelts that the artist has held onto for years have now been given a purpose as wearable objects that acknowledge both the past and the present.
