The exhibition “Even the Trees are Dreams”, with the opening scheduled for the 12th of December (a Thursday), commemorates the 15th anniversary of Reverso. It is dedicated to Ana Isabel Rodrigues (Bé), the gallerist who began this project with Paula Crespo in 1998, and whose passing in 2012 left all of us who had the privilege of knowing her with profound nostalgia.

Twelve visual artists were invited to participate in the exhibition: Helena Lapas, Henrique Ruivo, Fala Mariam, joão Moreira, Jorge Martins, Manuel Baptista, Manuel Costa Cabral, Maria José Oliveira, Pedro Calapez, Pedro Portugal, Sérgio Pombo, Teresa Magalhães, who worked with Bé in Reverso, as well as in Ana Isabel Gallery and Gallery Nasoni, spaces which she directed for more than 2 decades, between the 60s and the 90s.

Eleven Portuguese jewellers are also participating: Ana Albuquerque, Ana Margarida Carvalho, Catarina Dias, Dulce Ferraz, Edgar Mosa, Inês Nunes, Leonor Hipólito, Manuel Vilhena, Paula Crespo, Raquel Soares, Telma Simões; fourteen foreign jewellers: Andrea Wagner (NL), Barbara Paganin (IT), Beppe Kessler (NL), Birgit Laken (NL), Claude Schmitz (LU), Ela Bauer (NL), Herman Hermsen (NL), Kadri Malk, (EE), Kaori Juzu ( DK), Laura Rose (US), Luzia Vögt, Marc Monzó (ES), Mirjam Hiller (DE), Suzanne Esser (NL) and a Portuguese ceramicist, Beatriz Horta Correia, who is also the designer of the catalogue which Reverso has made for this occasion.

The exhibition “Even the Trees are Dreams”, which marks the 15th anniversary of Paula Crespo´s gallery Reverso, evokes the path and the presence of Ana Isabel Rodrigues, who collaborated on the project from the very beginning. It was through Ana Isabel that the nucleus of artists represented here was integrated into the programming of the gallery. The motivation behind the call for works for this exhibition was drawing. Each artist was asked to make three drawings, 30x30cm in dimension, incorporating the unifying theme into the work, reaffirming in this way the sense of a collective show organized by the gallerist.

Under a web necessarily eclectic in expression, made up of branches and roots, trunks and foliage, vastly different generations, paths and artistic dialogues intertwine. This is an exhibition of feelings, a collective and revitalizing mural that eases the absence with roads of the future, provoking creation and stimulating curiosity as well as the desire to know in those who visit it. Because through the lines of the artists one recovers the memory of days spent by Bé amongst friends”.
