Ezra Satok-Wolman selected for the Friedrich Becker 2014 Prize

Ezra Satok-Wolman has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 Friedrich Becker Prize. The jury has selected "The Mathematical Fingerprint of God" and "The Perpetual Motion of the Universe" for the exhibitions at the Museum Kunstpalast Dusseldorf and then it will travel to the Goldsmith's House in Hanau.

Professor Friedrich Becker (1922 – 1997) was one of the outstanding artistic personalities of our time. As an internationally renowned goldsmith, as a creator of kinetic objects, and as a designer, he had a formative influence on goldsmiths’ art during the second half of the twentieth century. For his work, he was awarded first prizes and received the highest accolades from all over the world. Prestigious museums have included his work in their collections and have shown them in numerous exhibitions.

In awarding the Friedrich Becker Prize – donated by Hildegard Becker – the Gesellschaft für Goldschmiedekunst (Hanau Association for Goldsmiths’ Art), wishes to commemorate this extraordinary individual and important designer, Friedrich Becker, and entirely in accordance with his spirit, to distinguish the best of the best from among the succeeding generation of designers. The prize is endowed with Euro 5.000 and will be awarded every three years since 1999 by the Gesellschaft für Goldschmiedekunst, Hanau, for exceptional, personally created design with highest-quality execution.
