Intro
Humans have lived together with horses for 6000 years. We have used them for transportation, farming and logging and for different kinds of recreation. Most people who have spent time with horses also have experience of close relationships filled with love and mutual respect.

Artist list

Steven Gordon Holman, Agnes Larsson, Linda Ottosson, Tabea Reulecke, Eline Willemarck
Röbäck has been known in written sources since 1443 and in 1500 it was Umeå’s biggest parish. The 23 farmers grew flax and cereals and kept livestock. Today Röbäck is well known for its horses. Not horses used for farming but for riding and especially for racing. Umåkers travbana (Umåker’s harness racing track) opened in 1944 and since then they arrange harness races, trotting courses and other horse related events.

The exhibition at Röbäck Glas & Lera will show contemporary jewellery - an art expression that could be described as wearable or body-related sculpture. Fatta Galopp! (Gallop!) shows 5 jewellery artists working with horses and horse racing as a motif, material and theme: Agnes Larsson (SE), Eline Willemarck (BE), Linda Ottosson (SE), Steven Gordon Holman (US) and Tabea Reulecke (DE).

Curated by Karin Roy Andersson.
