Curated by artists Beate Gegenwart and Elizabeth Turrell, their first exhibition Heat Exchange, encouraged and inspired artists from Australia, Germany, UK and the USA to exchange notes and images through a multi-author blog communicating process, ideas and inspirations amongst themselves and simultaneously with the wider community.

Artist list

Stephen Bottomley, Kathleen Browne, Melissa Cameron, Helen Carnac, Susan Cross, Tamar De Vries Winter, Bettina Dittlman, Cath Fairgrieve, Susie Ganch, Beate Gegenwart, Gretchen Goss, Chirstine Graf, Andy Griffiths, Kirsten Haydon, Kaori Juzu, Ramon Puig Cuyàs, Marjorie Simon, Elizabeth Turrell, Jessica Turrell, Silvia Walz, Gudrun Wiesmann, Kim Young-I
For Heat Exchange 2 Beate and Elizabeth invited a number of new artists. 'We aim to further the notion of exchange and dialogue by fostering an atmosphere that encourages the artists to communicate more closely'. In addition to online communication, artists were invited to work together, for instance at the Kuenstlerwerkstaetten in Erfurt, Germany. These exchanges led to new ideas and fresh inspiration.

The focus is the continuing exploration of vitreous enamel as an exciting, progressive medium and the innovative opportunities it offers to the contemporary maker.
We are also delighted to be showing brooch designs by the late Pamela Rawnsley to whom the exhibition is dedicated.

Heat Exchange 2 will be touring to:
- Fife Contemporary Art & Craft, St. Andrews Museum, Scotland from 12th December '15 to 28th February '16
- Gallery Waidspeicher, Kulturhof zum Guldenen Kronbacken, Erfut, Germany from 19th March '16 to 1st May '16
- Bayerischer Kunstgewerbe-Verain (Gallery for Applied Arts), Munich, Germany from 20th May '16 to 2nd July '16
