Ornamentum is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Jantje Fleischhut; recipient of the prestigious 2008 Herbert Hofmann Prize. The latest work of Jantje Fleischhut explores the Myth of the Dolomites as inspiration for these (abstract) graphic brooches.
Dolomiten Sagen
The myth of the Dolomites ‚die Bleichen Berge’ is the starting point of these recent pieces of jewelry.
Green blooming foothills of the Alps, steep mountains, voyages through the universe, dazzling moonlight and dark nights, a princess and a prince from different galaxies meet on my own world.
Together they shape collages in print as well as in different materials. With the help of resin, found plastic, precious stones, gold and silver I am able to narrate the myth in the present day, in a new form.
