Kaja Solgaard: Moments of belonging - Inspired by the sense of belonging to several cities, countries and places at the same time.
As the world becomes smaller we find ourselves with connections to many places. The place you live, where your family is or the city you feel connected to are not always the same. It’s fascinating how one can feel like home in a new place just in a few days or that the only place you feel you belong, is in the town you grew up. The exhibition ”Moments of Belonging” is an expression of this normal and interesting experience of belonging. The clocks show a layered image of time, referring to other places, countries and cities and at the sam time to the moments of here and now.
About the artist
Kaja is a designer from Norway she took her degree in product design at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm. She also has a background in communication and fine art from Oslo. This fall she starts a master program in contextual design at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
”Based on personal aspects and research inspired by modern living I explore the interior object. I wish to communicate about our time and my place in the world with design as my chosen mode of
expression.”
- Kaja Solgaard

Parallell is a new space for contemporary art, craft and design in Stockholm, Sweden.
The space is a combination of gallery, workshop and coffee shop, placed in the young, dynamic and therefore very interesting quarter of Hornstull. The gallery reaches its daily cliental within a natural street environment and with permanent happenings between cafe, gallery and workshop it offers a totally new exhibition perspective.
We support and present both young talents and international established artists/designers which are expressing themselves on contemporary topics and issues. We especially promote, exhibit and sell Contemporary art Jewellery which is a globally rising trend and presents an important discipline.
