Thanks to the imagination and the astute work of Italian artists, materials take unthinkable forms, come to life, transform into new entities, are put to new uses, play with opulence and wink at all things priceless.

The "La matière du bijou" exhibition will leave you astonished by how leaves, paper, wood, ceramic, silicone, and PVC clippings can be transformed into necklaces, rings, pendants and bracelets, as well as fascinating you with new manipulations of gold, silver, and glass, that dally with ebony, leather, and resin to blend and give rise to unique accessories, both whimsical and sophisticated.
The theme of the exhibition is to showcase the research and experimentation of Italian artists as they reinterpret materials and age-old methods of workmanship. The study of volumes, the variety of shapes, the overlapping of colours, surfaces, transparencies, the natural flaws of the materials, reflections and variations amaze and enchant in all these creations, which are in essence small works of wearable art. The craftsmanship, the sculptural ability and attention to detail—qualities that characterize Italian contemporary jewelery—are all to be found in this collection of unique pieces.
The curators and designers of the exhibition are a collective called 70m2Paris, an Italian group of architects and artists whose purpose is to promote the creativity found in Italy beyond its borders through the presentation of contemporary and innovative projects. Their partner for this occasion is the Maître Albert gallery, which now opens its doors to the world of Italian contemporary jewelery. Opening night will include Italian wine and food tasting.
