The Mayor of Padua, Sergio Giordani, and the Councilor for Culture, Andrea Colasio,
cordially invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition like WATER... Purity, Regeneration, and Life in the Jewelry of Mari Ishikawa

Water is the source of life and a symbol of the cycle of life. Nothing in this world could prevent its own destiny from disappearing. However, there is also the power of regeneration. Water is a symbol of regeneration. I work with Aquamarine in its raw form as a symbol of water. Plants show us the power of rebirth as well. I also work with plants cast in silver to capture this moment. When we realise that the days of stagnation are not forever, the path is already open, and transformation has already begun.

Rebirth... Nothing in this world can escape its ultimate destiny. We believe that things have their own destiny, and they disappear one day. But we have also the power of regeneration. The natural plants quietly show me that fact of rebirth. Various plant forms are portrayed with their shadows in cast silver pieces that I created into jewellery. Moonstones are woven into the surface with silk thread. A gleam of light (moonstone) on the surface, seemingly expecting a new life. Plants come and go as part of their life cycle. This is the illusion of plants but also the celebration of rebirth and memories. The color of red used in brooches symbolises life and is also a sign of spring arrival as it appears at the tip of the flower bud.
