After investigating the senses Rödiger goes further on her research to the impulses that generates emotions and energy. In the search of shapes to design her works she uses the horn developing the growth lines on the horns into spiral-like additions.

Mi-Ah Rödiger
Our senses are the gatekeepers between the outside world and our consciousness. In her earlier work Mi-Ah Rödiger investigated the workings of the senses: she made objects that either enhanced or shut out external stimulants. This time Rödiger went beyond the senses, into our inner world where impulses generate emotions and energy.
The search for shapes that could convey these kind of processes, lead Rödiger to artefacts coming from nature. She used the imposing horns of a ram as a sign of both power and stubcohn-gabriela-bornn-2016ess, as well as pressure and burden. She developed the growth lines on the horns into spiral-like additions. In another piece she aimed for contrasting connotations by making use of the seedpod of the lotus flower, which represents purity and the promise of rebirth and renewal. Other phenomena stemming from nature like growing processes and all sorts of inflorescences, augmented her associative process. In the results complex, sculptural shapes compete for the attention of the spectator with a wide range of finishes and textures.
The work was explicitly designed as jewellery pieces: considering how they should be put on and which meaning their positioning and weight might have. Yet once worn Mi-Ah Rödiger's monumental objects will probably cause considerable more emotions, than the energy generated by daily life which was the starting point for the artist.
