In many cultures, coral is both a status symbol and a token for harmony and power. Jewellery lovers know that nowadays real coral has become one of the rarest stones in the world due to ocean warming and pollution. The group exhibition Ocean Treasures is a charming example of how ecology is compatible with beauty and experimentation. The exhibition at Wagner Preziosen Berlin presents contemporary jewellery artists and a house collection of antique masterpieces. The designers highlight with visual precision, phantasy and humor themes, such as the ocean and its creatures, the magic of the waters, endangered species, and our hope for a kinder future.

with precious metals. In this way, each ingredient becomes an added value. The antithesis between the materials is annihilated, and a unique piece is born from this merge
/ Gallery owner and designer Clemens Ritter von Wagner
The gallery itself harbors the antithesis of materials combining concrete with velvet. Wagner adds: Many exhibits in this show are not just jewellery, but also a creative or a political and social statement. In a sense, some of the works are ready to find their place among museums’ exhibits.
Berlin Gallery Weekend is one of Germany's leading contemporary art events.
A print catalogue features the artists’ works. Download your digital copy here.
