In 2014 we held the exhibition “Tan lejos, tan cerca” (“So far, so near”) within the daily and relaxed atmosphere of this same café.  This circumstance led to encounters and informal talk with the occasional visitors, all of which transformed in some way the practice both of offering and of attending an exhibition.  It also allowed us to approach a new audience with our work as artists and to think of the present of contemporary jewellery as a space and time of encounter:  a permeable jewelry that connects. We aim to continue with those dialogues of the cafe and to expand limits in search of new bonds. “Ojalá (Hopefully) may a jewel surprise you, wake you, link you, transform you” In 2015 we launched Ojalá Project with the intention of spreading our discipline through what we do, to relate ourselves through our objects and personal bonds with the help of virtual social networks. We started with the initial action of providing "seed pieces" and participants from all over the world joined the game to use, transform and transfer them to new participants, sharing the experience through facebook and emails.

We are interested in investigating the fields of action offered by contemporary jewelry as a performance discipline and the becoming of the jewel in a "biographical object"; a mediating object in relation to one's own body and the relationship with others. What stories will the pieces tell us? What gestures will reflect? Now, with  Ojalá Project …reflections…gestures…bonds…traces, we invite artists to illustrate them and be part of the history of each piece. We invite you to discover them.

Many thanks to all our collaborators and participants!
