The name of this presentation Cair Horizontal, the same name as a presentation in Lugar do Desenho – Júlio Resende Foundataion on 20th April, attempts to underline this recurring feature of a way of seeing and making, which appears with each plunge into the evolution of the work.
Repeating the name of the presentation and showing the work exhibited in Lugar do Desenho and the results of the artistic residence there between 22nd and 26th April, the presentation attempts, from data taken from documentation and recent objects, to cause an interaction between the contents developed in the space between 1999 and 2013, and allows for discussion of the conceptual tools that the work embraces and of the evolution that the work has undergone throughout these years.
The presentation in the Tereza Seabra gallery on 24th and 25th of May, will take place, necessarily, by invitation to present a grouping of works left there since January the oldest (or most distant in time) of which refer to 1999. I say the most distant in time although close in the sense of aesthetic to the look, sight and feel of forms, or to how to hold those forms.
During the years that separate the various objects placed in the gallery and the next exhibition to take place, prior to this exhibition and after the writing of this text, the recourse to tools, forms and signs persists, identical, essential, in other words, more of the same but now different.
