Does beauty come from within? Austrian artist Peter Skubic wore a jewellery implant under his skin for seven years.
Galleri Hnoss is proud to present Peter Skubic. This controversial artist does not believe jewellery necessarily needs to be wearable and worn, but primarily regards it as the result of his artistic researches. Skubic has been an artist for more than 30 years. During this time he has search for new ways of expression and for the limits and boundaries of jewellery. For his action 'Jewellery under the Skin', the artist for seven years wore a shaped jewellery implant under the skin of his left forearm as a reference to hidden jewellery and adornment involving mutilation.

Skubic has been exploring jewellery as a medium for many years. Galleri Hnoss is showing pieces where the proportions and the mechanics are in focus. These jewellery are constructed from various parts and held in tension by mechanical forces such as stress and strain, by magnetic forces or the elasticity of the material.
