For 2014, Preziosa have organized a retrospective of Preziosa Young: five artists, between those who have won the selection from 2008 to 2012, have been invited to participate to this exhibition, with their most recent works.
Artist list
Annamaria Zanella, Renzo Pasquale, Inea Gukema Augstein, Daniel Di Caprio, Arata Fuchi, Adam Grinovich, Dana Hakim, Hanna Hedman
Preziosa Young was founded in 2008, as the "youth section" of Preziosa, the exhibition project that since 2005 annually presents the work of a group of artists of the international scene of research jewellery, all of them present in the worldwide most important museums and collections.
Since his beginning, more than 700 young artists have participated in the selection of Preziosa young, and 41 of them were chosen for the annual exhibitions.
Preziosa Young was born to give voice and presence to the new generation of increasingly varied landscape of contemporary jewellery. The formula is very simple, the candidates send their pictures along with a text related to their search, and a jury chooses between all those who embody the spirit of the competition: innovation, originality and quality of work and research.
There are no cash prizes, or even diplomas and scholarships, but the selected artists are invited to take part to Preziosa exhibition and are presented in the catalogue, along with their already established colleagues, and with equal dignity. Take part to Preziosa Young is therefore an important opportunity for the promotion and visibility for emerging artists, and in fact the vast majority of those who in past years have been selected, are working successfully.
Starting on 2013, the show became biennial: the organization of such an important event requires more thought and time, therefore the next edition will be held in 2015.
For the 2014, “year of the middle" we have organized a retrospective of Preziosa Young: five artists, between those who have won the selection from 2008 to 2012, have been invited to participate to this exhibition, with their most recent works. This is also a way to review how their research has developed.
The 2015 edition Preziosa Young is already underway, and the call for registration is on-line: young artists are invited to submit their material.
With this event, once again the school shows initiative and commitment to the promotion and dissemination of artistic research in contemporary jewellery.
