Intro
This year, SOFA will open to the public in New York on April 20 – 23 and Yong Joo Kim's Body of work will be represented at the show by Ornamentum Gallery.
The International Exposition of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art (SOFA) is a gallery-presented, international art exposition dedicated to bridging the worlds of design, decorative and fine art.

This year, SOFA will open to the public in New York on April 20 – 23 and Yong Joo Kim's Body of work will be represented at the show by Ornamentum.

About Yong Joo Kim
A Native of Seoul, Korea, Yong Joo Kim is a Niche award winning artist who explores the concept of inner-beauty by investigating the relationship between the process of exploration and trust endowed to a material by an artist.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with an MFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Yong Joo received the Adrianna Farrelli Prize for Excellence in Fiber Art from the Philadelphia Museum of Art as well as the prestigious Niche award in Jewelry: Sculpture to Wear category. She has also been the recipient of the Professional Arts Development (PAD) grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) and a finalist for the Lydon Emerging Artist Award (LEAP).

Her work has been internationally exhibited at museums and galleries in New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Seattle, Sydney, Firenze and Seoul. Her work has also been selected as part of the prestigious Museum of Arts and Design’s (MAD) permanent collection. She works and lives in Providence.
