Yue Huang

In this small exhibition, there are three bodies of work and two documentations that Hyuè created at different moments in time, yet they share a common reflection on the Self and Identity. Rooted in personal experiences that mirror the universal, the works explore how our identities are shaped by different perspectives that influence us.

Yue (Hyue) Huang, Chinese/Portuguese, is currently based in Lagos, Portugal. He is a contemporary craft artist working in jewellery and objects, whose practice explores themes of identity and belonging through material and craft-based expression.
From 2018 to 2022, Hyuè attended the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence, Italy, where he received training in traditional goldsmithing techniques and contemporary jewellery practices, with a focus on cultural identity.
