Travelling, traveller, travels. These are words connected to adventures, discovering new things and getting new perspectives. There are fictional, digital, and emotional journeys, travels in time, weekend trips, and slow expeditions on foot, on bike, or on the back of a horse. But things like climate change, environmental impact, and involuntary trips taken to escape, are also connected to the theme. Contemporary jewellers are people that often travel. Unlike other art, jewellery is something you bring with you. Jewellery is art that travels.
/ Karin Roy Andersson.
We are excited to announce the 2025 Amber Trip Art Jewellery Competition, and this year's theme is TRAVEL.
This theme invites artists to explore both the literal and metaphorical aspects of travel, its impact on personal and collective experiences, and the unique role jewellery plays as art in motion. Whether through traditional materials or other creative mediums, we encourage participants to delve into the concept of TRAVEL and create pieces that resonate with this universal theme.
Jury:
Chairman: Karin Roy Andersson (Sweden).
Other Jury Members: Sofia Björkman (Sweden), Giedymin Jablonski (Poland), Laima Kerienė (Lithuania).
Requirements:
- Amber is the recommended material, though not mandatory.
- Key criteria include relevance to the theme, contemporary artistic expression, and the professional execution of the work.
Important Dates:
- Deadline: January 1, 2025. Both the application form and the artwork must be submitted by this date to participate in the contest.
- All participant works will be exhibited during the Amber Trip exhibition in the expo centre from 13 to 15 February 2025.
Submission Information:
- Artwork Submission Address:
Jūratė Guntorienė, Aušros Vartų st. 15-9, Vilnius, Lithuania, LT-01304.
For any inquiries, please contact: info@ambertrip.com
We look forward to your participation and seeing your unique interpretations of the TRAVEL theme in the Amber Trip competition!
