It is the Contemporary Goldsmith and Jewelers Association intention to incorporate composition, creativity, sensibility and intellectual stimuli ideals common to all arts. We believe goldsmith and jewelry design is an essential part of the arts and society in which it develops. This is the reason why a group of independent designers join forces to achieve this common goal.
The Asociación de Diseñadores de Orfebrería y Joyería Contemporáneas (AdOC) was founded in Madrid on July 07th, 2016 and was registered at The Department of the Interior with the number 63.035. The main objective amongst AdOC´s several goals is that Minor Arts stand level with the so-called Fine Arts. Taking this into consideration, and after the success of the first two editions, the III Contemporary Goldsmithing and Jewelry Exhibition organized by AdOC will take place at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas of Madrid (MNAD) on February, 2018, at the same time as The Madrid Art Week – ARCO and the Madrid Design Festival.
KEY Dates
Submission entry: October 10th, 2018. This stage is free. Participants must pay the fees if selected.
Artists notification of exhibition participation: October 24th, 2018
Entry fee: November 07th, 2018
Arrival of shipment: January 16th, 2019
Inaugural meeting venue: January 31st, 2019
Exhibition dates: January 31st - April 07th, 2019
Participants
National and international artists are invited to join AdOC´s III Contemporary Goldsmithing and Jewelry Exhibition – goldsmiths, jewelers, designers and metalsmiths. The exhibition is for everyone with an interest in the art and craft of contemporary goldsmithing and jewelry.
Exhibition Coverage
Ten-week exhibition of the selected artworks at Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (Decorative Arts Museum of Madrid) January 31st – April 07th, 2019.
Exhibition labels and all artwork technical specifications including artist information.
5.000 printed triptychs will be handed out at academic, cultural and public institutions, tourist and cultural centers.
1.000 artwork catalogue copies with two pages per artist and contact details. Five copies will be hand out to each author.
Guided tours of the III Exhibitions by AdOC’s members.
Eligibility
In order to take part in the exhibition all artists must:
Submit 5 separate (or a collection of pieces belonging to a set) of the finished artwork. All materials are acceptable but al least 25% must be made or plated in fine metals.
By completing this application artist agrees that he/she is responsible for the creation of submitted works.
Selection Criteria. Jurying Process & Jury
The Jury will be presided over by Mr. Eloy Martínez de la Pera, who will act as curator and advised by experts, he will select the artist´s work to be exhibited. The following selection criteria will be applied:
- Be contemporary
- Design
- Concept and investigation
- Technical execution
- Innovation and use of new materials
The Jury will select a maximum of 3 pieces by each author to be exhibited, corresponding to the categories of Contemporary Goldsmith and/or Jewelry.
All decisions of the jurors are final.

Entry Fee
Enrollment fee: 350 € to be paid once the artist is notified of the selection. The fee is nonrefundable. This fee covers domain hosting costs of the AdOC exhibition at The Decorative Arts Museum and promotional and coverage materials. Bank details for payment will be sent to the selected participants, in order to carry out the payment according to the established dates.
Shipping / Insurance
Artist is responsible for cost of shipping.
All shipping and return expenses will be paid by the artist.

Conditions and General Rules
The jury´s decisions on the selection of pieces are irrevocable.
The organization reserves the right of revision of these terms and conditions without prior notice.
Once selected, the authors accept the agreement made between both parties is valid and compromise to its fulfillment.
The staging and dismantling of the exhibition is in charge of AdOC, who will take the greatest care during manipulation of the pieces, although it will not be responsible for any damages made during the process.
The selected authors agree to the use and diffusion in media and publication by the organization of the provided images and photographs of the event.
Aquisition of the Pieces
The Asociación de Diseñadores de Orfebrería y Joyería Contemporáneas (AdOC) may acquire some of the pieces of the III Contemporary Goldsmithing and Jewelry Exhibition to form part of its private collection.
