Open call for the Amber Trip Art Jewellery Competition: Inclusive

Amber was formed millions of years ago from fossil resin, a malleable substance that traps anything that gets into it: bugs, flies, stones, needles, leaves or lizards. You could say that amber is a conciliatory material; it does not discriminate, it includes.
This is one of the main characteristics of amber, and it is very important not only in the context of jewellery. We aim to look beyond that.
 
We have chosen this INCLUSIVE theme for the Amber Trip art jewellery contest.
The comparison to the world in which we live is evident. We all strive to do justice to all our fellow human beings, and look for inclusiveness for people of color, black and white. But we also do not want to exclude people who think differently, or with different gender identities, from queer to trans. All forms and colors are welcome.
 
We think that on this INCLUSIVE theme a jewelry maker can indulge to their heart's content, from color to meaning and interpretation. We hope that many makers will be inspired by the INCLUSIVE theme to participate in this exhibition with new work.
 
But the 2024 competition is special. As a jury, we dedicate the competition to Giedrius Guntorius, the founder of AmberTrip, without whom it could not have happened, a man who has worked all these years to make the world of amber more inclusive, involving artists, collectors, buyers, sellers and viewers.

Requirements: Amber is the recommended material, but not mandatory. Important criteria: relevance of the concept, contemporary artistic expression and its suggestiveness, work executed professionally.
